Our Team
Alex Hendrix
Shortly after a career in logistics for a mid-size manufacturing and shipping entity, Alex was bitten by the horticulture bug. In pursuit of this new endeavor, he began working at a large turf farm where he learned about the care and cultivation of turfgrass. He also sold agricultural grade pesticides, fertilizers and organic ornamental compounds. This helped broaden and deepen his technical knowledge.
Alex then worked his way up to becoming a supervisor at Good Natured Gardening. There, he learned about the high stakes world of maintaining some of Charleston’s most prestigious properties. After a few years under the tutelage of Clint and Whitney Weiman, he moved into the management world. Alex spent time with a large residential outfit in Daniel Island and eventually became a Branch Manager for a Large commercial company in the southeast. There, he led a team of managers that designed and maintained projects from $1,000 to a Million Dollars.
After all this, something was missing. So Alex and longtime Friend Jesse Crompton decided to start Premier Horticultural Service. Jesse and Alex’s passion about Garden maintenance is what called them to create a company that will set a new standard for high end residential garden maintenance.
Alex resides in James Island, SC with his Wife Amy. If he is not working in your garden, you can catch him surfing at the beach or golfing with his business partner Jesse.
Jesse Crompton
At a young age, Jesse had a passion for landscaping. He mowed yards in his neighborhood to earn extra money and took various horticulture classes while working on the weekends with his high school landscape teacher.
Jesse graduated from Williamson Free School of Mechanical trades with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture, Landscape and Turf Management. After graduation, Jesse took a job with a large commercial landscape company where he learned to manage people and the customer experience.
In November 2007, Jesse moved to Charleston to be closer to his family. He worked as an account manager for various companies before starting Premier Horticultural Service with Alex Hendrix.
Jesse’s passion for landscape is evident through his attention to detail and expertise in horticulture knowledge. Jesse lives in Mt. Pleasant with his wife and two little girls, Josephine and Eleanor.
